Founder Revitalize-U, A New Body Image

Dr. Cynthia Thaik is board certified in internal medicine and noninvasive cardiology. She is a Harvard trained physician who has been practicing medicine for over 20 years with specializations in women’s health, cardiovascular health and congestive heart failure. Her continued interest in health and nutrition turned into a quest to find a way to bring a program that improves health and promotes overall changes for a healthier lifestyle.

While searching for a solution to offer to her patients, she was introduced to Ideal Protein, a weight loss method that improves energy while reducing cravings and maintaining vitamin levels and muscle mass for long-term success. After participating in the Ideal Protein protocol herself, she began offering it to patients with significant weight as part of their health conditions. Her patients experienced such great success, that soon her patients’ friends and family were eager to participate.

With this growing interest she founded Revitalize-U, A New Body Image. a wellness center focused on health, nutrition, weight loss and detoxification. This program allows her to continue to focus on her patients in cardiology, while offering a true, long-term weight loss solution to anyone who wants to lose weight and make healthy lifestyle changes.

As a strong believer in the importance of wellness, Dr. Thaik has continued to incorporate these habits with her family. She has adjusted her own health habits and those of her family. Her sons, age 11 and 7, and daughter, 8, are now drinking green smoothies with almond or soy milk rather than dairy and she is learning more about the health benefits of a Vegan lifestyle. Dr. Thaik and her husband are now incorporating many raw food into their meals.

Dr. Thaik is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine and the Co-Director of the Women’s Cardiac Risk Screening Program at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank. A member of Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, PCRM, and a recipient of the Cardiovascular Research Award from the American College of Cardiology, 1995.

Doddie Wilson, NP  

About Doddie Wilson, NP

Doddie Wilson – RN, MSN, A-NPc – is a certified adult nurse practitioner who assist in providing primary healthcare and nutritional consultation.   The nurse practitioner brings public awareness and emphasizes a holistic approach to a patient well being. The primary focus of the nurse practitioner is in health promotion and disease prevention.

“My goal is to develop a practice that is based on mutual trust, respect and responsibility to the patients and their families. I am particularly interested in assisting Revitalize-U with creating a practice that will include a special focus on disease prevention”, said Doddie.   In her desire to improve her own health status and learn first hand the protocol, Doddie participated in the program and lost 33 lbs in just 3 months.  Her own success has motivated her to educate and promote the Ideal Protein protocol as a beginning to a healthier way of living.

Doddie has been a nurse for over 20 yrs and received her Bachelors in Nursing from California State University, Los Angeles. She went on to receive her Masters in Nursing through the University of Phoenix and decided to pursue her certificate as an Adult Nurse Practitioner through California State University, Los Angeles.

Brenda Morales  

About Brenda Morales

 Brenda Morales graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with degrees in Foods & Nutrition with an emphasis in Dietetics, and Spanish. Unsure of the direction she would take after college, Brenda applied to work as a Nutrition Consultant and Weight Loss Coach at Revitalize-U Wellness Center and started working at the clinic in July 2011. She meets with dieters on a weekly basis to discuss any challenges or concerns they are experiencing, provide valuable nutrition education, and support and track their weight loss success.

Brenda is friendly, compassionate, and dedicated to educating others on solutions to obesity and metabolic syndrome. She enjoys helping others achieve their weight loss goals to live healthier lives. “This diet works! I have become extremely fascinated and delighted by our dieters results. It’s easy to follow and perfect for people on the go,” says Brenda.

Shauna Hoffman, M.A., MFT, BCT  

About Shauna Hoffman, M.A., MFT, BCT

 Shauna Hoffman is a Relationship Specialist, Marriage, Family Therapist, Speaker and Coach currently in private practice in Santa Clarita, CA. Shauna specializes in working with Individuals to help them become more aware of their body image and self image. She is excited to bring her experience and workshops on weight loss, body image and stress to Revitalize-U where she will help the clients look into the connection between their inner thoughts,  self esteem, and self image. Shauna dedicates her workshops to helping men and women deal with stress, become more aware of the choices they make, where these choices REALLY come from and how these choices effect every aspect of their life!

In addition to having a Masters Degree in Marriage Family Therapy, she holds a BA in Theater Arts and a Corporate Coaching Certificate from The Behavioral Change Institute.  Shauna began doing Seminars for Corporations combining her speaking skills with her therapy experience. Her seminars and Private Coaching are geared towards inspiring the Clients in self confidence, becoming aware of body language, learning tools to separate personal issues from the work place, strong communication skills and true self awareness.

Ed DeSouza & Jesse Russo  

About Ed DeSouza & Jesse Russo

Ed DeSouza is a retired restaurant manager and a certified nutritionist. His doctor told hm he needed to loose 100 pounds to have a hip surgery and Ed vowed to loose the weight. Through all his cooking experience he began to learn as much as he could and he changed his diet. Ed lost 120 pounds and has kept it all off for 7 years now. With the trainers of the Porter Ranch YMCA he had a great workout plan to assist in his weight loss. Then he began to volunteer at the YMCA and serve his healthy food as often as he could to help others learn how to modify their lifestyle. Jesse Russo began her quest for a healthier lifestyle when she was faced with some personal health problems. Through this journey she learned as much as she could and became determined to help others. Jesse resolved many of her health issues through diet and exercise. With many years in the restaurant business she just kept learning all she could to run a successful restaurant and also completed her Bachelors Degree in Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College. Now she tries to give as much information to people about making the right food choices without calling it a diet.

We met volunteering at the Porter Ranch YMCA and the members loved our food, so healthFULL foods was born and people starting eating healthy food that taste great! We believe in low sugar/ high fiber diets and cooking from scratch to better control fats & salt. We teach label reading and key things to avoid when shopping at the grocery store.healthFULL foods Cafe is open in the Valencia Spectrum club.
